Ooma, simply stated

A lot of people seem to be asking my opinion of the new Ooma product. I don’t have the box or service, so I can’t comment to any specifics. Here’s what I’ll say: more power to ’em.

Competition is a good thing. It keeps us all honest. I am a business person, but I am also a consumer. Customer choice is a good thing. Ooma provides another choice for customers. Sure, any MBA would love to have the luxury of a monopoly position – but how boring would that be?

Customers, the free market, will have the last word, as it should be. If Ooma helps us learn something about the market, that will be a good thing. If you like it, place your bet on it, if not, don’t. It is your choice. I made my choice, and put my money where my mouth was.
