When Walmart started selling Lindows PCs last year, I thought it was significant, and pretty cool. Unfortunately Lindows sucks. I can only imagine how much effort they spent in order to screw up working parts of Linux that badly. The conspiracy theorist side in me guessed it was a plot by Microsoft to cast a bad light on Linux. Now Walmart is selling real Linux machines, based on Suse 8.2, and starting at $298. For now, these are only available on-line, not in Walmart stores.
