Sean Gorman is getting heat from officials about his PhD thesis paper that maps out fiber-optic networks: “…when they presented [the findings] at a forum of chief information officers of the country’s largest financial services companies — clicking on a single cable running into a Manhattan office, for example, and revealing the names of 25 telecommunications providers — the executives suggested that Gorman and Schintler not be allowed to leave the building with the laptop.”
From The Washington Post
This genie is out of the bottle. That this could be done by a few people with limited resources, means it can be done again, so whether Sean’s PHd thesis is silenced or not makes no difference now.
