The Danville Parade

Ok, it’s getting ridiculous. My little town is full of people who are full of themselves. There are chair wars now over the best seating for the 4th of July parade. The parade is a big deal here, but who are these people to think they are so special? They think they can claim a spot of turf in front of a public street with some kind of legitimacy? This parade started a long time ago. It reflected the nature of the area, then a rural farming community. Now the fighting on the sidewalks seems to be a better reflection of Danville’s people, with the parade itself only a side-bar. Maybe these people should just try standing for a change.
