A little Internet history

A snapshot of web sites in .COM and .ORG circa 1994-1995: http://www.bdt.com/pages/commenu.html

These lists were generated by scanning the list of .COM or .ORG domains and looking for web servers, back when the list of all .COM domains could be downloaded in a single file. Note that there were less than 1000 .COM web sites found at the time, and I don’t think any of them were porn sites.

How quaint.
