Not so Extreme tech

Ziff Davis offers an e-Zine they call ExtremeTech. After monitoring their RSS feed for some time now, I think they should have named it More Boring PC Hardware and Other Inane and Tired Themes.

Most of the content is about geeky PC hardware, such as the latest graphics card, motherboard, or (get this) power supply — far from extreme in my book. Thanks to Microsoft and Intel, this is what now qualifies as extreme. I anxiously await the end of this era. Sadly, I predict this boring state will continue for several more years. Maybe 2010 will be the dawn of some changes.
