Speaking of Israel

It is one of my favorite words. We know the story of how, after a struggle, God changes Jacob’s name to Israel and we learned that it literally means “fighter for God” but somtimes direct translations let us down. My favorite translation is “one who wrestles with God” — sublime, isn’t it?
