John Poindexter, the creator of the Terrorism Information Awareness program and the recently cancelled FutureMap terrorist futures market idea, has quit as director of DARPA (see GCN story). Read his resignation letter.
You may remember that he was convicted in 1990 of five felony counts in connection with the Iran-Contra scandal. However, that was overturned in 1991 by an appeals court that said Poindexter previously won immunity when he gave testimony to Congress. He is one whacky dude.
